Last weekend the Phillies swept the Marlins and boasted one of the most potent offenses in major league baseball.

Then, during a four-game stretch against the Braves and Rockies, the Phillies failed to muster an extra base hit for the longest stretch in team history since 1968.

Thankfully, the Phillies offense rebounded a little bit in Coors Field as Jimmy Rollins and Ryan Howard went deep to get some of the mojo back with the bats, but a lackluster offense is the last thing the Phillies want as they head to Chavez Ravine in Los Angeles for a four-game set.

After Cliff Lee goes toe-to-toe with struggling lefty Paul Maholm to open the series Monday night at 10:10 p.m., the Phillies will face three straight Dodgers’ starters with ERA’s under 2.42.

Hyun-Jin Ryu, Zach Grienke and Dan Haren will oppose A.J. Burnett, Cole Hamels and Kyle Kendrick respectively in the series, and in the confines of Dodger Stadium don’t expect those games to be slugfests.

Los Angeles is in first place in the west and starting to round into form.

The Phillies have also dropped off their once-dominant play in Los Angeles. After man-handling the team in blue during their NL East championship seasons, the Phillies have gone a combined 4-10 against L.A. during the last two seasons.

Here’s a run down of the probable starters in the upcoming series.

• Monday: LHP Cliff Lee (2-2, 4.00 ERA) vs. LHP Paul Maholm (0-1, 4.97 ERA)

• Tuesday: RHP A.J. Burnett (0-1, 2.74 ERA) vs. LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (3-1, 1.93 ERA)

• Wednesday: LHP Cole Hamels vs. RHP Zach Grienke (3-0, 2.42 ERA)

• Thursday: RHP Kyle Kendrick (0-2, 3.60 ERA) vs. RHP Dan Haren (3-0, 2.16 ERA)
