Playing the Field: Michael Jordan marries Yvette Prieto

Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto are now happily married. Presumably. I’d be very happy if I were him.

The greatest basketball player and corporate spokesman of all time, Michael Jordan, was married this weekend in a lavish ceremony in Palm Beach, Fla.

Jordan, 50, married longtime girlfriend Yvette Prieto, 35, in front of 1,500 of their closest friends. Yeah, you heard me, 1,500 guests. I’m not sure I’ve met 1,500 people in my entire life, let alone know them well enough to invite them to the biggest day of my life. Five-hundred people were at the wedding at Bethesda-by-the-Sea Church itself for the ceremony.

Well, biggest day of my life Part 2 for Jordan. (We’re guessing first wife Juanita Vanoy was not one of the 1,500 guests.)

The folks at JeffRealty.com were nice enough to provide photos of the grounds during the reception, which was held in the biggest tent in history. That’s not a joke, it’s actually presented as fact. The folks at Jeff and Cary Lichtenstein Realty are apparently not big NBA fans, as they think Jordan owns the “Charlotte Hornets,” but they do know REALLY expensive real estate.

Here’s a look at the grounds:

The monstrosity of a tent is smack in the middle of the golf course right behind Jordan’s house. I’m guessing the approach to the green is a real bitch with a 40,000-square foot tent in the way.

Some of the reported guests at the reception were Scottie Pippen, Patrick Ewing and Toni Kukoc. No word on whether Pippen sat on the bench while Kukoc stole the spotlight on the dance floor.

Also, breaking news, Prieto is unbelievably beautiful. Apparently it pays to be the best ever at your sport and a billionaire.
