Report: Aly Raisman to appear on ‘Dancing With The Stars’
Massachusetts natives should have a rooting interest in this upcoming season of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars.” Olympic gold medalist and Needham product Aly Raisman is slated to be a participant on the show, according to TMZ.com.
Her competition will likely include country star Wynonna Judd, “Bachelor” star Sean Lowe and singer Kellie Pickler. An official announcement is expected Tuesday and the season begins on March 18.
Raisman would likely be a favorite in the competition as several former Olympians have fared quite well on the show.
Gymnast Shawn Johnson was a season 8 winner, figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi won in season 6 and speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno won in season 5. NFL stars have also done well on the show as former Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Hines Ward and former Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith both came away from the show as champions.
