A suspect accused of firing shots that injured a teen boy inside his Chelsea home on Wednesday is being held without bail on a previous charge of assault and battery on a police officer, the Boston Herald reported.

Christian Garcia, 19, who was identified by a witness as an EastSide gang member named “Pumba,” is suspected of firing six to eight shots toward a group of men near Bellingham and Shawmut streets Wednesday night.

A stray bullet went through a nearby wall, striking a 13-year-old boy in the back as he watched TV inside his home.

Garcia was arrested Friday and bail on an open case in Malden was revoked. He pleaded not guilty to charges that include assault and battery with a firearm. He is due in court Nov. 14.
