Suspect sought for Boston-area carjacking may have also robbed bank

Authorities are looking for a suspect possibly connected to a Wednesday carjacking and Friday morning bank robbery.

Tewksbury police have identified Michael Munroe, 32, of Raymond, New Hampshire, as a man they said stole a woman’s car in a Dress Barn parking lot on Wednesday, according to WHDH. Munroe is also a person of interest in an attempted carjacking one day later in Reading.

Now Seabrook Police in New Hampshire have said a robbery took place Friday morning at Granite State Credit Union on Lafayette Road, and though they have not identified the man captured by bank surveillance cameras, Tewksbury Police said they believe it was Munroe,CBS Bostonreported.

The bank robber captured on video was last seen running south on Route 1, WHDH added.

On Tuesday, one day before the Dress Barn carjacking, Munroe had been arrested at a Wal-Mart in Tewksbury and charged with heroin possession with intent to distribute, CBS Boston added.

Tewksbury police believe Munroe may be with Rebecca Norton of Raymond, New Hampshire, who is also wanted by law enforcement on two outstanding warrants, according to WHDH.

Munroe is sought on charges including larceny, robbery and carjacking, CBS Boston stated.
