Battling the holiday shopping crowds is always a struggle, but the folks who prepare for retail warfare on Black Friday are a special breed of their own. Throughout Boston and the suburbs, there’s some serious discounts to be had the day after Thanksgiving, so we’re sending you into battle with a guide to the best discounts in and around the city.

Back Bay: The Shops at the Prudential Center and Copley Place are the obvious go-to’s for luxury shopping in the Hub. They’ll open two hours early at 8 a.m. on Black Friday. For the wannabe chef in your life, head to Sur La Table for the Thanksgiving sale, where you’ll get 40 percent off cookware and entertaining through the 28th. (Exclusions may apply.) Over at Teavana, enjoy 20 to 40 percent off all teas an tins when you buy a pound or more of tea through the 28th.

Downtown Crossing: If you’re brave enough to head into Macy’s, be ready for some seriously crowded aisles, because basically everything from housewares to clothing is on sale. You could also head over to the nearby Faneuil Hall Marketplace, where the team from AMP 103.3 FM will be broadcasting live with great music and giveaways.

Cambridge: For your friends and family that live and work in Harvard or Kendall Squares, give a healthy (but delicious) lunch option with a gift card to Tahaza Hummus Kitchen. For every $25 gift card purchased, they will give the purchase a free Hummus Bowl or Wrap.

Chestnut Hill: The Street in Chestnut Hill is more like a vacation destination than a shopping mall. Hit up fashion favorite Ku De Ta (as well as their sister store in Southie!) for Black Friday- offering 30 percent off denim store-wide with some styles 50 – 70 percent off. On Small Business Saturday they will be hosting 20 percent off designer clothing and denim.

North Shore: The Northshore Mall in Peabody is a prime holiday shopping spot. Save up to 50 percent on shoes and boots at Journeys. If you’re got a hockey fan in your life, head to Old Time Sports, which will be opening at 6 a.m. (ouch!) on Black Friday, for 50 percent off storewide- but only until 8 am.

Dorchester: It’s safe to say that Dot shoppers will be headed to South Bay Center for bargains at big stores like Target and Old Navy. But if you want to think outside the box, head to dbar, where gift cards are 30 percent off for one day only.

Wrentham: If you’re willing to drive out to the outlets, you’ll be handsomely rewarded. At Jockey, enjoy 50 percent off the entire store on Black Friday. You’ll also get 50 percent off at Tommy Hilfiger. And as always, the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets will be opening at 12am on the 27th for some true “Midnight Madness” shopping. They’ll stay open until 10 pm.
