New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is going to be 40 years old by the time the 2017 NFL season rolls around and it looks as though he has no intentions of slowing down.

Fresh off a fifth Super Bowl title, Patriots owner Robert Kraft stated that he thinks Brady will play another six or seven years.

That would have the two-time MVP playing until he was 46 or 47, which is almost unheard of considering the grueling, sometimes barbaric nature of the NFL.

However, it has been done before. Here is a look at some of the oldest players in NFL history:

George Blanda QB/K

Years active: 1949-1975

Age in final season: 48

Teams: Chicago Bears, Baltimore Colts, Houston Oilers, Oakland Raiders

George Blanda made his debut with the Chicago Bears in 1949 and spent the ensuing 26 seasons in the league.

After 10 years in Chicago as a seldom-used quarterback, outside linebacker and kicker, Blanda spent seven years with the Houston Oilers as a full-time passer and kicker.

He led the AFL in passing twice in 1961 and 1963 but also led the league in interceptions for four-straight years from 1962-1965. In 1961, he was named AFL AP Player of the Year.

Blanda played the final nine seasons of his career with the Oakland Raiders exclusively as a kicker. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1981.

Morten Andersen K

Years active: 1982-2007

Age in final season: 47

Teams: New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings

Thanks to his longevity, Morten Anderson’s name is commonplace within the NFL’s record books.

He ranks first in field goals made (565), points scored (2,544) and games played (382). Andersen is also second in career extra points, converting 849 of a possible 859.

Andersen will be elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer.
