Your weekly ski weather report: Winter is coming

This weekend's New England ski conditions: Dec. 7-11

Hey skiers, get ready for the coldest outbreak in almost a year!
Ski conditions will be improving significantly right through the weekend, matter of fact it looks like the rest of December could see an abundance of fresh snow and snowmaking machines will be in full operation mode as temperatures will remain at freezing and below from base to summit starting tomorrow. However, as we move into Friday and this weekend, make sure your wrapped up tight as readings will be dipping to zero or below across the central and northern mountain ranges of New England.
Right now I’m not looking at any major snow events, just random snow showers and isolated squalls that can deposit a quick inch or two, and in between plenty of sunshine. Long range computer models are suggesting possible record cold arriving around Dec. 15. Quite a few resorts are still closed in Massachusetts, but I’m anticipating improving snow conditions as ski operations will ramp up over the next seven to 14 days
