LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Assembly Row will open its doors to grownup LEGO enthusiasts for its monthly adult night on Wednesday evening.

The Vegas-themed event plans to host 250 guests for a night of Texas hold'em and Blackjack with raffle prizes and a cash bar.

But what might the night's big winner walk away with? “It’s a variety of LEGO sets,” says David Gilmore, Boston’s Discovery Center general manager. “Could be a Star Wars theme, an architect theme — the Master Model Builder always raffles off one of her creations.”

LEGOLAND's adult nights are held every third Wednesday of the month with themes like Christmas in July and an '80s prom, drawing in a range of guests from the 18-and-up social pool.

“We can see [ages] 18 to 82, it varies on the LEGO lover,” he says. “A few months ago we had a marriage proposal. A guy called two months in advance and asked us to build a LEGO ring.”

The adult nights raise funds through ticket sales for Merlin’s Magic Wand, an international charity affiliated with LEGOLAND’s owner that supports children in need. Tickets are $22.95, and can be purchased online or at the door.

Gilmore adds, “We’re trying to put smiles on these children’s faces."

LEGOLAND's Casino Night will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 598 Assembly Row in Somerville.
