Chelsea police arrested two teenagers after they allegedly stabbed a minivan driver whom they had hired to give them a ride.

Police responded to the area of 250 Congress Avenue at about 6:40 p.m. on Sunday and found a 57-year-old man from East Boston suffering from an apparent stab wound.

Police believe the victim may have been subcontracting for a livery company.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital, police said. He was listed in serious condition.

Both juveniles were charged with armed assault with intent to murder, and assault and battery. The 15-year-old was ordered held on $25,000 bail and in an open matter out of Lawrence juvenile court, his bail was revoked, according to the Suffolk County district attorney's office. The 17-year-old was held on $10,000 bail.

The suspects names are not being released due to their ages. They are expected to return to court on Sept. 22.
