Rebecca Black, who skyrocketed to Internet fame focus of derision, mockery, and general bemusement with “Friday” (a.k.a. the worst “song” ever produced, auto-tuned, and vomited into cyberspace), has squirmed out of whatever cave one-YouTube-hit wonders crawl into to die and released a cover of “We Can’t Stop.”
The video for “We Need Love,” a track off their just-dropped new album Wack Album, is a throwback to the comedy trio’s early “Just 2 Guyz,” with Jorma Tacone and Akiva Schaffer reprising their roles as the 2 guyz who came to P-A-R-T-Y…awkwardly. This time around, they came to find L-O-V-E (not S-E-X, okay)…awkwardly. And the results are similarly awesome. Awkwardly awesome.
The English school Red Balloon, which has schools all over Brazil, is encouraging its young students to reach out to their idols on Twitter, correcting their grammar and spelling. Tweets like “@danielradcliffe Hi Harry Potter, I’m Gabriel from Brazil. Your tweet has 2 mistakes in it: “It has been” and “amazing” are often accompanied by photos of the kids looking as adorable as the entire endeavor is.
Sometimes, when I remember that Robin Thicke’s dad is Alan Thicke, I laugh a lot because, oh man, what would Dr. Seaver say? Dude used to blow a lid when Mike stayed up past 9 p.m. eating ice cream and here’s Robin mouth-sexing a chocolate cone while eye-sexing half-naked models in the video for “Blurred Lines.”
