4 highlights from the River to River Festival

Over 11 days, the River to River Festival will present the work of more than 90 artists beginning today through June 29. A production of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, the festival intends to inspire residents, workers and visitors in the neighborhoods south of Chambers Street by connecting them to the creative process of making art and exploring unique spaces.

Performances will take place in downtown’swaterfronts, parks, plazas, hotels, historic landmarks, temporarily vacant office spaces and other sites.

Ex-Situ Series: Claire Chase & Svet Stoyanov
June 21, 7:30 p.m.
Federal Hall, 26 Wall St.
Flutist Claire Chase and Bulgarian percussionist Svet Stoyanov collaborate on a new duet called “Alone” by composer Marcos Balter. The piece is a musical drama based on a poem by Edgar Allan Poe.

R2R Living Room: Everyday I’m Hustlin’
June 21, 9 p.m.
South Street Seaport, Nelson Blue, 233 Front St.
Kick back with your meal or beverage and let R2R Living Room entertain you with festive music and dancing in a social setting. This evening, you can hustle with Ephrat Asherie Dance (EAD) and Hector Arce-Espasas.

The string quartet Ethel and the virtuoso guitarist Kaki King are collaborating on a re-imagining of J.S. Bach’s masterful Brandeburg Concerto #6, as well as playing original works.
