A vacation from the typical vacation

Spring Break kicks off this weekend for many of the kids in Nassau and Suffolk counties. If you haven’t procured those tickets for Disney World just yet, consider staying on the island for some spring break “staycations” that won’t break the bank.

Next week also happens to be Spa Week, so moms, grab your daughters and pamper yourselves with a trip to Hands On Day Spa in the name of bonding. For $50 each, the two of you can select from three choices of massages, including a 50-minute pumpkin spice back scrub and peppermint foot scrub.

If your children are a little too young to appreciate hot stones on their backs, take them to LifeSpa in Syosset, where they’re offering free childcare — including access to the kid’s computer center, a play maze and a junior sport court — while you enjoy a mani, pedi and deep-hydrating treatment, all for just $50.

Stay classy, Long Island

We all love being pampered at a nice hotel, but booking rooms can often be costly. What if you could enjoy all the amenities of a luxury hotel without forking over the cash for a night’s stay? No, we’re not suggesting you sneak in and bill your expenses to a random room number. Instead take a quick trip to the Hilton Long Island in Huntington, where they charge a day rate of $30 per adult and $20 per child.

Adults can take a dip in the pool, enjoy the sauna or splurge on lunch or dinner at tres fancy Fuse, the hotel’s restaurant.
