All the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard divorce drama you missed

The drama of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s divorce continues to escalate as her claims that the actor repeatedly physically and verbally abused her multiple times during their 15-month marriage come to light.

To catch you up: according to court documents obtained by E! News, Heard says Depp violently attacked her and made “paranoid and irrational accusations” at their Los Angeles penthouse on May 21. A spokesperson for the LAPD says their officers “determined that a crime did NOT occur” after responding to the domestic violence report that evening, but Heard claims her opting to remain mum on the matter was because she feared “harm that might come to the abuser.” Heard was granted a temporary domestic violence restraining order against her estranged husband and appears to be prepared to discuss previous incidents involving abuse from Depp in court.

Meanwhile, Depp’s family and friends have come forward to defend the “Through the Looking Glass” star over the weekend. Daughter Lily Rose Depp spoke out on Instagram, writing “My dad is the sweetest most loving person I know, he’s been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and I, and everyone who knows him would say the same,” alongside a childhood photo posted over the weekend. While long-term ex-partner Vanessa Paradis called Heard’s accusations “outrageous” in a hand-written letter to TMZ, adding that he never physically abused her in the duration of her 14-year relationship.

Heard is currently seeking spousal support (her intial $50,000 per month request was denied— as was her request for Depp to attend mandatory anger management) and both are due in court June 17.
