If Ben Affleck plans to portray the Dark Knight, he had better be man enough to shoulder some criticism.
Affleck, 41, appeared on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on Monday and addressed the chorus of doubts that followed the announcement that he will play Batman in the upcoming Superman vs. Batman movie.
"I’m a big boy. If I can handle an Emmy snub, I can handle anything," he said. "I handle s—, you know what I mean? I’m very tough."
The Academy Award-winning director said he was warned by Warner Bros. about historically negative reactions to actors previously chosen to fill the high-profile role.
"So I saw the announcement, I look at the first comment and it’s like, ‘Ben Affleck is going to be Batman’ and the first one goes, ‘Noooooooo!'”
Batman vs. Superman should be interesting, one way or another.
