Seafoodies unite! The night kicks off with a cocktail hour filled with bubbly and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a serious seafood feast. Boston’s best chefs — hailing from eateries including West Bridge, Towne and Tarranta — will prepare dishes based around more than 20 oceanic varieties. A raw bar features Woodbury’s Clams and Big Rock Oysters and, naturally, this oceanic gala is far from dry – the open bar boasts seven wines and beers, and Strongbow cider. A Citi Performing Arts Center initiative, ArtWeek is a biannual event that aims to simultaneously celebrate art and foster community involvement. Ain’t no party like a seafood party. This second annual day-long festival celebrates Boston’s seafood history with oyster shucking contests, chef-led tutorials, nautical crafts and live music. All proceeds to go Boston Fisheries Foundation, a non-profit that brings awareness to state seafood and fishing industries. Bring the kids – children under 6 get in free, and there are plenty activities geared toward youngsters.
