CBS at the upfronts: ‘Supergirl’ flies onto the fall schedule

CBS has unveiled its fall schedule, and you might want to rearrange your viewing plans a bit. “Big Bang Theory” is jumping to Mondays to make room for the NFL, but you’ll still have the same wonky Sunday night DVR recordings of “The Good Wife” during the football season. Check it all out below.

MONDAY

8-8:30 P.M. Big Bang Theory

8:30-9 P.M. Life in Pieces (new)

This family sitcom plays out in a series of “four short stories” each week, as the various family members confront milestone events in their lives, such as falling in love, facing an empty nest, having a baby and facing aging. The kids are played by Betsy Brandt, Thomas Sadoski and Colin Hanks, while Dianne Wiest and James Brolin step in as the parents.

9-10 P.M. Scorpion

10-11 P.M. NCIS: Los Angeles

(After the end of the football season, Supergirl will begin airing on Mondays at 8 p.m., while Big Bang Theory and Life in Pieces move to Thursday nights)

Supergirl is what she sounds like – another resident of Krypton who managed to escape at the same time as Clark Kent. In the show, she’s just beginning her life of crime fighting, and much like her slightly more famous cousin, she also works in the media. In this case, it’s for a “media mogul” played by Calista Flockhart, while Melissa Benoist will be playing Kara Zor-El.

TUESDAY

8-9 P.M. NCIS

9-10 P.M. NCIS: New Orleans

10-11 P.M. Limitless (new)

You might remember Limitless from the movie starring Bradley Cooper, about the drug that enables a person to use 100 percent of their brain. Cooper is actually scheduled to recur as a senator with presidential ambitions who’s using the drug, but the real star is Jake McDorman, who plays a man who uses the drug and is then recruited by the FBI to help them solve crimes.

WEDNESDAY

8-9 P.M. Survivor

9-10 P.M. Criminal Minds

10-11 P.M. Code Black (new)

Marcia Gay Harden stars in this medical drama, which takes place in a perpetually crowded E.R. struggling to serve patients with limited personnel and equipment. So either we’re going to learn a lot about the pitfalls of the American medical system, or we’re going to watch Marcia Gay Harden save people’s lives in incredibly stressful situations every week. Maybe both!

9:30-10 P.M. Angel from Hell (new)

Jane Lynch joins her first post-Glee TV show in this comedy about a woman (Maggie Lawson) who’s befriended by an eccentric woman claiming to be her guardian angel (Lynch, naturally). Is Lynch’s Amy completely nuts, or does she actually know what she’s doing? We’re going to take that on a week by week basis.

9-10 P.M. Hawaii Five-0

10-11 P.M. Blue Bloods

SATURDAY

8 and 9 P.M. Repeats of CBS dramas

10 P.M. Two hour farewell to CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

Following that, the hour will be taken over by CSI: Cyber, with Ted Danson moving over to join that cast.
