Hop aboard the Craft Beer Express

Drink Craft Beer will hold a spring beer festival in April.

It’s okay to drink before noon, as long as you’re sipping a local craft beer. On Saturday, March 9, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Craft Beer Express will host a day-long pub crawl, with transportation to 11 participating bars and enough drink specials to keep you going all day.

Tickets are $10 and guarantee you a seat on the CBX bus, which we guarantee is cheaper than paying for cabs all day. Just purchase a ticket from one of the 11 bars, either online at www.craftbeerex
press.com or in person at the bar. Then head to that bar in the morning and start drinking. Pause to make comments about the hoppiness or seasonality of your beer. When you’re ready to change venue, hop on one of the buses to check out any of the other spots. Buses run every 25 minutes.

The participating bars — scattered all over the city, from Fishtown to Easy Passyunk — include Kraftwork, Johnny Brenda’s, The Institute, Bishop’s Collar, Kite & Key, Jose Pistola’s, Sidecar, Pub on East Passyunk, Devil’s Den, Brauhaus Schmitz and Race Street Cafe. Johnny Brenda’s is putting the focus on local stouts, from the dry Irish variety to Russian imperial. Meanwhile, Kraftwork will be pouring Two Brothers Brewing’s gluten-free golden ale, for the allergic beer lovers. Race Street Cafe is toasting the end of winter with dark ales and Jose Pistola’s is serving up Orkney’s Skull Splitter. Good luck.
