Has The Wanted reached an "all time low"? The fivesome announced that they are taking a break from music. A statement released today on their website reads: "This tour will be their last for a while as Tom, Max, Jay, Siva and Nathan have collectively decided to take time to pursue personal endeavors following the tour's conclusion."
Fans who watched "The Wanted Life," a reality show featuring the band that aired on E!, probably aren't too surprised by the news. The TV show publicized rifts within the group, particularly with Siva Kaneswaran, who mostly wanted to hang out with his girlfriend instead of with the rest of the guys. Kaneswaran announced his engagement with girlfriend Nareesha McCaffrey in December.
The reality show also filmed Max George actively pursuing acting auditions and modeling gigs, showing he has more aspirations than just being in a band. Nathan Skyes, for his part, has had success breaking out of the group, releasing a duet with Ariana Grande called "Almost Is Never Enough" for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire."
With their loudmouth ways and tweet-before-thinking behavior, it's only a matter of time before we find out if this really was what everyone in the band "wanted."
