Buy a Valentine’s Day reservation at Peasant for $50.

You remembered the flowers, the card and a box of chocolates, but something is missing. Did you remember to make a dinner reservation for Valentine’s Day?
If not, you’re in luck – and out of a good chunk of change. Savvy people on Craigslist and SellMyRes are selling their Valentine’s Day dinner reservations. As of now, five reservations are available between 7:30 and 8 p.m. on SellMyRes at restaurants that include the West Village’s Extra Virgin and the Financial District’s Delmonico’s.
On Craigslist, one brazen seller posted a reservation for two at Peter Luger Steakhouse (Great Neck location) for $300. That poster agreed to meet the buyer at the restaurant to confirm the reservation. Another Craigslist user posted a reservation for Peasant at the bargain price of $50. The catch? It’s an early dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Today’s Epicure offers last-minute reservations in New York City for members. Membership fees range from $150 for a trial to $1000 for the year.
Or you could just cook.
