This November, Cambridge’s American Repertory Theater will premiere a new play by “Vagina Monologues” playwright Eve Ensler. The show is called “O.P.C.” and will be “an exploration of consumption and politics” and show the conflicting ideologies of a young woman who is a “dumpster-diving freegan” and her mother, a liberal candidate for the Senate. This is a very Cambridge plot.

Oscar-winner Melissa Leo will be taking on the role of the Senate candidate, while Olivia Thirlby (you may remember her as the best friend in “Juno”) will play the daughter. Former “Seventh Heaven” dad Stephen Collins rounds out the cast.

The show will premiere November 28 and run through January 4.
