Frank Ocean broke our hearts when “Boys Don’t Cry” didn’t end up releasing earlier this month (as some — ahemtrusted sources told us), but don’t worry, he made up for it. The singer dropped “Endless,” an 18-track visual album, streamed exclusively through Apple Music today. But that’s not all.

Rolling Stone reports “Endless” is a project all in itself, with a separate full-length album previously known as “Boys Don’t Cry” (they also confirmed Ocean scrapped this title) will debut on Apple Music later this weekend.

So WTF is “Endless”? According to an early review by The Guardian, “Endless” is “one big teaser – the teaser to end all teasers, if you will – before the real thing, with a brand-new title, arrives this weekend.” But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth a gander. Guests on “Endless” include James Blake and Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood. The visuals are an expansion of the black and white video loops on Ocean’s site, quite literally him building up from a blank slate — a warehouse with just too many stairs.

“Endless” is perhaps the abstract overflow of an artist with too many ideas in his head. Which could mean the TBA-titled album set for release this weekend will be the meticulously curated masterpiece we’ve been waiting for. But only time will tell. Until then, we’ll keep watching.
