‘Glory’: Jay-Z posts song about new daughter, raps about past miscarriage

In between changing diapers — or watching nurses and Beyonce change diapers — new papa Jay-Z has found time to post a heartwarming song about his newborn daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, on his website.

The track, titled “GLORY feat. B.I.C.,” features intimate lyrics about becoming a father, as well as the heartbreak the couple experienced over a past miscarriage.

“All the pain of the last time. I prayed so hard it was the last time,” raps Jay-Z. “…. Last time the miscarriage was so tragic. We was afraid you’d disappear but, nah, baby, you magic.”

In the song, Jay-Z tells Blue Ivy she was “made in Paris” and calls her a “younger, smarter, faster me.”

“Maybe I’ll paint the sky blue. My greatest creation was you,” he says in the song.

The track ends with what we assume is an audio recording of the couple’s newborn baby crying. It almost has us tearing up, ourselves. (Until we remember how Jay-Z and Beyonce prevented other new parents from spending time with their own newborns by hijacking the hospital like a couple of baby-having control freaks).
