Gossip roundup: Kanye West versus paparazzi

Kanye-West

Kanye West’s ongoing tensions with paparazzi boiled over this weekend when the rapper came to blows with a photographer outside of the LAX airport, according to TMZ. It’s unclear what spurred the altercation, but sources say West went after the “especially aggressive” photographer and tried to take away his camera, pulling him to the ground. West was no longer on the scene when police arrived. The photographer was taken to a local hospital to undergo x-rays on his hip, which he claimed he injured in the fight.

George Clooney reportedly tried and failed to woo Eva Longoria while he was still dating now-ex-girlfriend Stacy Keibler, according to Us Weekly. The two stars spent time socializing at the Soho House in Berlin back in March “but did not hook up,” a source explains. “George began pursuing Eva. He told her that he was still with Stacy but had plans to break up with her and was interested in being with Eva.” And apparently when Longoria politely turned down his offer, he “continued to pursue her with texts and calls. Eva made it clear to him that she would not date or be with him until he was completely single.” But not so fast, according to Longoria herself. The former “Desperate Housewives” star took to Twitter to declare, “As interesting as the George Clooney rumors are, they aren’t true. George and I have been friends for years.”

Shailene Woodley is preparing for the release of “Divergent,” the film version of the popular young adult science-fiction novel, and the spotlight that comes with it. So she turned to “Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence for some advice. “I asked her about ‘Hunger Games’ and what it was like, and her life and how much it has changed,” Woodley tells Vanity Fair. “It was nice asking someone who has been through the process and is kind of seasoned in the young adult franchise.” According to Woodley, Lawrence’s advice was pretty straightforward: “It will be the best thing that ever happened,” Woodley remembers he saying. “But don’t be an idiot, do a sex tape or do drugs. And go to Whole Foods when your movie opens.”

“Modern Family” star Jesse Tyler Ferguson married boyfriend Justin Mikita in New York City this weekend, tying the knot in front of 200 friends and family, according to Us Weekly. Guests included Ferguson’s co-stars Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet as well as Zachary Quinto, Rebecca Romijn and Padma Lakshmi, among others. Ferguson and Mikita have been dating two years.

Taylor Swift is apparently having trouble ingratiating herself to her new Rhode Island neighbors, and it’s all thanks to the security detail at her lavish beach community mansion, according to Radar Online. “Tensions are running his between Taylor’s security team and volunteers for the East Beach Association,” a source says. “At the Fourth of July parade, some of the guards accused some of the EBA kids of ‘pelting’ them with candy, but they were just passing it out. It was a parade! The guards got super pissy and called the supervisors of the whole program to complain about it. It’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard.” Hopefully Swift can smooth out the situation this week, while she’s staying at the mansion during a break from her summer tour.
