If “Mad Max” and “Primer” were put in a blender with “(500) Days of Summer” you’d get something approximating Evan Glodell’s nightmarish, testosterone-tipped feature debut. Glodell stars as Woodrow, a down-home slacker-type who tinkers with cars and builds flamethrowers — until Milly, a sweet and spicy blonde with wandering genitalia, throws a wrench in the works.

Summer Streets closes off a stretch of street from Central Park to the bottom of Manhattan for three consecutive Saturdays in August. Along the route, find free bike and Rollerblade rentals, sandboxes for the kids (or the young at heart), free yoga and running classes, and guacamole-making demos by Chipotle.
