Conceived by Londoner Barry Hogan in 1999, All Tomorrow’s Parties is an intimate, fan-friendly affair that invites artists to choose the lineup. Curated by ATP and Portishead, acts include Bonnie Prince Billy, Shellac, Chavez, Public Enemy, Earth, the Horrors, Battles, Reggie Watts, Deerhoof and Jeff Magnum (Neutral Milk Hotel).

Happening in more than two dozen cities around the world, the festival incorporates galleries, street art and on-the-spot happenings to take art into the night. In its second year in Greenpoint, the New York event, dubbed Bring to Light, features scores of artists making a scene inside and out.

The play is a thoroughly engaging equation of sex with consumption that unfolds as a murder mystery. Playing on elements of his personal family history, Tennessee Williams poetically demonstrates how being fully honest about human sexuality can lead an individual to be eliminated by a threatened society unwilling to accept the truth.

“Closer” explores the upper limits of emotional violence between four people wrapped up in matters of the heart. Elyse Fisher is particularly compelling as Alice, an elusive stripper who can be truly kind and loving — but can also turn ice cold when her suitors pry into the truth of her hidden history.
