Halloween Pumpkin Fest!

The Science Discovery Museum and the Children’s Discovery Museum, on a single campus in Acton, Mass., serve families throughout the region.

All programs are free with admission unless otherwise noted. Admission to The Discovery Museums is $10.50 for adults, $10.50 for children, $9.50 for seniors and free for both children under 1 and Members.

» Spooky face painting fun!
All-Day Children’s & Science
Visit the Face-Painting Cart and turn into a cat, ghost or pumpkin.

» Pumpkin decorating: Paint, glitter and glue — oh, my!
Drop-In 9 a.m. to noon Children’s Discovery
Use your fingers and imagination to decorate your very own pumpkin using a collection of paint, glitter and craft tools. What will you create?

» Halloween music and movement with Miss Carolyn
1 p.m. Children’s Discovery
Come celebrate Halloween through singing and playing. Move, make music, listen, learn and get a multi-sensory workout! Music improves your child’s memory, cognitive development, learning skills and ability to express emotion. Miss Carolyn is a professional musician, serves as a faculty member at Indian Hill Music School and has been a licensed Kindermusik Educator for five years.

»Fiddle fun with the Bolton Community Music School
1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Science Discovery
Get into the harvest season spirit. Listen to the fiddle music of Suzuki violins being played by students from the Bolton Community Music School and explore a violin during the instrument “petting zoo.”

»Pumpkin science: Ooey, gooey fun!
Drop-in 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Science Discovery
What does the inside of a pumpkin feel like? How many seeds are in a pumpkin? How much does a pumpkin weigh? Does a pumpkin sink or float in water? Explore all of these questions at the pumpkin exploration station.
