Just last week, Zayn Malik dropped his first solo song, “PillowTalk.” And let’s just say it was quite a change of pace from his One Direction days. (Even the perpetually stoic Simon Cowell would blush at the lyrics.) Now another boybander is going his own way. Billboard confirmed Harry Styles officially cut ties with his management team and signed a new solo contract with CCA’s Jeffrey Azoff.

"Harry is a total gentleman, and we know our good friend Jeffrey Azoff will look after him,” Modest Management execs told Billboard in a statement. One Direction is set to take an extended hiatus in March.

It’s an eventful week for Styles, who celebrated his birthday on Monday (even tweeting ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift’s “22” lyrics to commemorate the occasion). I guess that means new year, new career.
