Here’s why Eva Mendes wasn’t at the Oscars

Gather round, comrades. Eva Mendes would like to clear something up. You see, there’s a reason she didn’t join her long-term partner, Ryan Gosling, on the red carpet this awards season. Because when it comes down to it, she’s just a cool, down to earth, loveable homebody! Why didn’t I think of that?

In an interview with Shape Magazine,the 43-year-old actress admitted that being at home is one of her greatest passions. “What people don’t know about me is that I love being home,” she says. “Instead of hitting the red carpet, I’d rather be with our girls.”

Mendes and Gosling share two daughters: Esmeralda, aged 2, and Amada, 11 months.

If she would have just said, “We are notoriously private and don’t want anybody in our business,” that would have been fine too, but whatever.
