how to make it in NYC: Bryan Greenberg

Every week we’re checking in with the hustlers from HBO comedy “How to Make It in America” for recommendations on top spots in NYC to see and be seen. Today’s tip comes from Bryan Greenberg, who plays Ben Epstein, one half of the budding fashion design team CRISP.

Neighborhood: Lower East Side

The scene: Very Lower East Side — you walk in and it’s decorated like an old-school deli that sells local downtown NYC and Brooklyn-made food. When you walk to the back, it’s more of a restaurant where you can just chill — but it still feels like you’re in a cool joint.

What goes down: It’s a new place in a great historic neighborhood where I can easily meet friends, feel relaxed and get some good eats. Stay tuned for the BGPBJ — my personal version of a peanut butter sandwich. Still refining the ingredients, but I’m thinking fried bananas.

Why it’s a place to help you “Make It”: It’s not as intense as some of the other Lower East Side spots. It’s more relaxed and you can feel comfortable. They have great music, and it’s a good late-night spot.
