Yesterday the Supreme Court made married gay men and women eligible for federal benefits in a historic decision that defeated the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).
Today, we wonder how this will affect our favorite same-sex television couples.
Now with gay unions becoming legal again in California, ‘Modern Family’ co-creator Christopher Lloyd said he might feature a same-sex marriage on the hit ABC show.
“It’s a real possibility,” he told EW of the show’s fifth season. “It’s certainly something we are contemplating on the show in ways we wouldn’t have in prior seasons. We’ve had a number of conversations. As you can imagine in Cam and Mitchell’s life, they would be feeling that a door has opened that was closed to them. Wouldn’t it be pretty tempting to think about walking through it? We imagine a lot of gay couples today are deciding whether to get married now that it’s open to them. From our standpoint, that’s something explore.”
Lloyd noted that the show has not featured a commitment ceremony between Mitch and Cam in previous seasons.
We’d love to see Cam and Mitch tie the knot with Lily as their flower girl.
