If you're a comedian on the rise and the first movie you wrote and starred in did pretty well, how do you top that for your second movie? By bringing in a pretty exciting collaborator, of course. That's what Amy Schumer did, with the recent news that she's writing a movie with Jennifer Lawrence. In typical J. Law fashion, she broke the news apparently by accident, while talking to a New York Times reporter about the final "Hunger Games" movie.
The duo will play sisters, and they're almost done with this masterpiece, per Lawrence. “Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up. I’m flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We’ll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing ‘Trainwreck.’”
Lawrence said she emailed Schumer after "Trainwreck" to compliment her on the movie, and the two hit it off from there. Is that an option after you see Trainwreck? We also would be happy to email Amy Schumer about it.
No further details are available yet, of course. Schumer is probably pretty busy with "Inside Amy Schumer" and Jennifer Lawrence is in every movie every year, so finding some time to shoot may be a little difficult. But someday soon, you'll have the Amy/Jennifer buddy comedy of your dreams.
