We chatted with mom-to-be Jennifer Love Hewitt at a Pampers event on Wednesday in New York City. Pampers has encouraged parents across the country to submit photos of their babies experiencing love, sleep and play, and the best of the 30,000 submissions were shown to an audience of pregnant women on Wednesday — including Hewitt.
With her prominent belly surrounded by baby photos, playing kids and a whole lot of diapers, the star seemed to be in her element. She glowed at every question about her pregnancy, and even though she says she doesn’t have all the answers to motherhood yet, she had plenty to share with us.
What do you like about being pregnant?
[The baby] has been kicking the entire time that I have been here and it’s sort of funny. It’s a really weird thing that has been awesome. I love that part of it.
Which experiences are you looking forward to having with your baby?
I was there the day that my nieces were born and I remember the first time they grabbed my finger and held on. I can’t imagine what that’s going to feel like when it’s my own kid. I think that’s going to be really cool.
You have said that most people want to have all of the answers right away when they are preparing to be a mom. Where do you look for answers?
I don’t have any concrete answers yet and I feel pretty good about that. I feel that every kid is totally different and every relationship is different. When our baby comes out I want us to sort of have our own bond and figure out what our language is going to be and then that will be my answer.
Which situations will you take pictures of as a mom?
I’m going to take pictures of everything! My kids will be really annoyed and eventually be like, “Dude, honestly, hands up. Stop it.”
Do you know if it will be a boy or a girl? And have you discussed names yet?
We don’t know. We keep it as a surprise. And yes, we have talked about names, but we are not ready on that yet. We are just really excited.
