Jon Stewart doesn’t want to host a 2016 presidential debate

Jon Stewart just wants to be left out to pasture (literally). He’s gone to his new farm in New Jersey to start a new life, because the way to move on from 17 years of political satire is to only deal with animals all day.

But the Internet just knows he’s got one more good interview left in him. His seat at “The Daily Show” is barely cold, but more than 151,000 people have signed a petition to put him on an even bigger stage:We want Jon Stewart to moderate a 2016 presidential debate.

Look, Internet. Yes, he’s left a yawning void in the field of political commentary. Yes, 2016 is shaping up to be an even more entertaining presidential race than 2012. And yes, our worlds are a little less joyful without looking forward to the minor miracle of being able to laugh at the dismal state of the world after work.
