VIDEO: Joseph Gordon Levitt, Stephen Merchant lip sync with Jimmy Fallon

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and Joseph Gordon Levitt and Stephen Merchant brought their game faces in a lip sync battle on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”

Actor Stephen Merchant, star of HBO’s upcoming comedy “Hello Ladies,” started off the battle with an impassioned take on “Boom! Shake the Room” by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. The lanky Merchant glided around the stage with grace despite his lanky frame and cast off his staid English manners to get in the mode as Jazzy Jeff – you haven’t seen a tall nerd “rap” until you see Merchant bug his eyes out while he lip syncs “Ya really done want me to tig-a-tig-a-tig-a tell ya wassup” at hyper-speed.

Fallon keeps up the energy with a cheesy, up-close rendition of “Don’t You Want Me” by the Human League, and Joseph Gordon Levitt brings down the house with a throw-the-mic-stand-down, swing-it-around take on “Tiny Dancer” that we’re sure would make Elton John jealous. Stay tuned for the rest of the video – you don’t want to miss Joseph Gordon Levitt as Nicki Minaj hitting on Jimmy Fallon during “Super Bass.”
