Are Justin Bieber's hometown fans turning their back on him?
Justin Bieber can tick off the press and American law enforcement, but he'll always have his hometown Canadian fans, right?
Not according to what happened last night at Canada's Juno Awards, the country's biggest music award show. When Bieber won the Fan Choice Award, it turned out not many of the fans who voted for him were in attendance. His win was met with a mix of cheers and boos, with the Canadian Olympic women's curling team, who announced his win, left onstage to grin and bear it.
Bieber was not at the awards show to stand up for himself, but singer Serena Ryder did attempt to repair Bieber's rep for him later in the show, when she accepted her own award. "I really think that Justin Bieber is an amazing musician, and he deserved every bit of that award because he's been working his ass off his entire life and we need to support how awesome he is," she said in her speech.
Bieber has kept quiet since last night's bittersweet win, except to tweet, "We won #JunoFanChoice for the 4th year in a row! Love to all my beliebers. Thank u. Love u."
