The traumatic events of the past few months were bound to affect the Kardashian family’s main promotional platform, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”

Filming for E!’s most popular show has been temporarily shut down following Kanye West’s psychotic episode and subsequent hospitalization last week. TMZ reports that while producers have enough footage to meet contractual requirements, the family was supposed to film “KUWTK” over the holidays. But one can imagine why there might not be much holiday cheer for the famous family this year.

Production for the show was briefly suspended last month following Kim Kardashian’s armed robbery during Paris Fashion Week, but the camera crew was spotted when Kim discreetly attended Kanye’s Saint Pablo show in Los Angeles. Her husband’s mental health issues coming to a head in the midst of her own road to recovery probably make it hard to get glammed up for reality TV.
Things are bad, y’all…really bad.
Update: Sources at E! have toldEntertainment Tonightthat “KUWTK” is still shooting and will continue to do so without Kanye. Apparently the show must go on. But things are still pretty bad all things considered.
