‘Masters of Sex’ cancelled
Showtime

Bad news for “Masters of Sex” fans — the show has been cancelled after completing its fourth season on Nov. 13. Deadline first reported the news yesterday and later shared the following statement from Showtime:

“Masters of Sex was a beautifully written and acted exploration of America’s changing sexual mores. We are incredibly proud to have shared the story of Masters and Johnson for four critically-acclaimed seasons. The series will remain available across our platforms where new viewers can discover it for years to come.”

Set in the 1950s through the 1970s, the series followed the relationship of Dr. William Masters (Michael Sheen) and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan), two researchers of human sexuality at Washington University.

Season 4 ended with Masters and Johnson getting married — which at least wraps up the series with a happy ending.

Are you disappointed that the show’s been cancelled? What will you watch instead? Tell us in the comments.
