How many times can Hollywood open a doomed dinosaur theme park? Since there’s not been a commercial flop among them yet, the answer is always one more.
The inevitable sequel to “Jurassic World” — its fate was sealed after it smashed the opening weekend box office record — will be released June 22, 2018, reports ComingSoon. Director Colin Trevorrow will stick to co-writing this time, as well as getting promoted to co-executive produce with Steven Spielberg, who directed “Jurassic Park.” “Jurassic World” became the third highest-grossing movie ever yesterday, behind “Avatar” and “Titanic.” Maybe adding a love song by Celine Dion (since “Jurassic World” leads Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will reprise their roles) and some blue aliens will put it over the top?
