Monday gossip roundup: Miley Cyrus goes emo on Twitter

Amanda Bynes has taken Lindsay Lohan‘s mantle as Hollywood’s favorite troubles starlet — at least as far as getting into auto accidents is concerned — and Ms. Lohan isn’t thrilled about it. Specifically, she’s miffed that Bynes has apparently gotten off easier with law enforcement for her various vehicular infractions. “Why did I get put in jail and a Nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?” Lohan angrily tweeted over the weekend. Bynes is currently facing two separate hit-and-run charges.

The new lineup for the 12th season of “American Idol” is in place, with singers Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban joining already hired Mariah Carey. And original judge Randy Jackson — the only holdover from last season — will keep his spot on the panel. The news was announced on the reality show’s Twitter account. Urban had quit his gig as a judge on the Australian version of “the Voice” last week, prompting speculation that he had in fact signed on for “Idol.” There’s no word yet on what Minaj and Urban will be making, but chances are it won’t be as much as Carey, who earns a reported $16 million for one season of the show.

Ben Affleck may like leading a large family — he and Jennifer Garner have three kids, and he’s reportedly considering more — but he’s still got work to do. “I don’t want to be a stay-at-home dad. Work is very important to me,” he tell Details magazine. “I like to work. So does my wife. But I need my work to mean something to me in order for me to not be home with them.” That’s why Affleck is getting choosy with what film projects he takes on: “Anytime you think, ‘I’m wasting my time here,’ the first thought you have is ‘I could go home and be with my kids,'” he says. “Now, you may go home and be with your kids and very quickly start thinking, ‘I wonder what’s on the work front?’ Because running around after three kids is very trying.”

Miley Cyrus got a bit mopey the other night with a series of introspective posts to Twitter, causing fans to worry about her happiness. “Ever feel like you want just … something more? Not sure what exactly. Passion perhaps?” she tweeted. “Sometimes I feel like I love everyone more than they love me. Hate that feeling. Maybe it’s not that they love you less. They just love you the most they are capable of loving.” But Cyrus was quick to clear up any confusion over the state of her engagement to Liam Hemsworth, posting, “No, there is not trouble in paradise.

Chris Brown may have trouble moving copies of his new album, “Fortune,” thanks to one record store chain’s interesting warnings. At London locations of HMV, copies of Brown’s CDs have reportedly been affixed stickers that read, “Warning: Do not buy this album! This man beats women,” according to Hollyscoop.
