When Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) discovers that his wife has vanished, his mental model of their happy marriage soon starts to unravel under public scrutiny, in this David Fincher picture coming October 2014.
Based on Gillian Flynn’s 2012 bestselling thriller, for which the author received multiple Book of the Year accolades and a Women’s Prize nomination, the film stars Affleck alongside Rosamund Pike, with Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens (“Treme”) and Patrick Fugit (“Almost Famous”) among cast members.
Set for its debut the week of October 3 “Gone Girl” has Affleck playing both distressed hero and presumed killer, with Pike as missing wife Amy Dunne.
As time goes on, more and more evidence suggests that Affleck is fully culpable. There’s no doubt that Nick’s hiding certain aspects of his character, but things soon become much murkier as events unfold.
