OpenTable gets hotter with HotTables

With HotTable you might be lucky to book a table at one of the trendiest restaurants in New York. With HotTables you might be lucky to book a table at one of the trendiest restaurants in New York.

Some restaurants are more popular than others — it’s no secret. OpenTable knows that and wants to help you out.

They are launching a pilot program called HotTables, which will allow OpenTable members to get alerts when a table opens up at a trendy restaurant in New York City, like Gramercy Tavern or Maialino.

By setting up an alert for the size of the party, the date and time at a particular restaurant, OpenTable will notify you when a hard-to-get table becomes available. They’re doing it in real-time so you will get the notification by text message right the moment the table becomes free.

You can set up as many as 10 alerts, but an alert isn’t the same as a reservation. Members have to act fast to get the table, as others may have gotten the same alert.

Send an e-mail to requestalertsinvite@opentable.com to request an invitation to the pilot program.
