Social media was buzzing on Monday with resounding cries of “How could they?” about two very different musical acts.

TLC replaced the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes for a 20th anniversary edition of their “Waterfall” single. Using Japanese pop singerNamie Amuro, the surviving members of TLC, T-Boz and Chili recreated their song with a bad rap in the middle.

Reportedly even family members of the late Lopes were upset and stipulated that the single only be released in Japan.

Elsewhere in replacing members, the Pixies announced that Kim Deal, who announced her departure from the seminal alternative band last month, will be replace by former Muffs singer Kim Shattuck.
