Precious moments with Biebs

Ever since I hosted a press conference with Justin Bieber to publicize his new film, “Never Say Never,” the question that everyone has asked is very basic: “What’s he like?”

I won’t presume to be able to answer the question after only spending a brief time backstage — and 30 or so minutes onstage — with the pop prodigy, but I have a few observations based on our time together.

At age 16, he’s a spirited kid. Backstage, he was a bundle of energy. When he wasn’t tweeting or sharing funny YouTube videos with his stylist, Ryan, he was chatty and affable. “I hope you’re a good translator,” he joked as we walked to the stage. “Because I’m going to do the whole interview in Spanish.” Then he burst into song:?“Feliz Navidad … ”

He’s as humble and normal as one of the most recognizable people on the planet can be. “I do clean my room, especially when I’m home at my grandma’s house,” he said when asked about normal kid stuff, like chores. “I still don’t really notice it,” he added of his fame. “I’m still just a regular teenage boy, having a lot of fun.”

So what’s my answer to the burning question? Well, he’s just like any other high energy, multi-millionaire teen pop superstar.
