After legendary singer Prince was found dead in his home from an accidental drug overdose earlier this year, rapper and businessman Jay-Z made a move to purchase the late singer’s unreleased music. TMZ reported that Jay sat down with Prince’s sister and offered around $40 million for the cherished catalog.

Apparently Prince’s estate has made a decision: No deal. TMZ has confirmed that the estate sent a letter to Jay-Z’s camp saying that they actually aren’t down to let “Roc Nation to exploit any of the intellectual property assets of the Estate.” Yikes. They’re also claiming that Tidal, part-owned by Jay, was not authorized to make 15 of Prince’s albums available for streaming shortly after his death.

Looks like you really can’t always get what you want, even if you’re Beyoncé’s husband.
