Rosie O’Donnell was blasted online for tweeting a video that questioned whether or not Barron Trump, son of president-elect Donald Trump, is autistic. Although she clearly stated that it was an opportunity to bring attention to the epidemic, many followers thought it was insensitive of O’Donnell, who is vehemently anti-Trump, to focus on his child’s potential issues.

But according to US Weekly, the former host of “The View”set the record straight, again, in a poem posted on her website. The 54-year-old says that her 3-year-old daughter Dakota was diagnosed with high functioning autism in September. And although she does not support Trump’s pending presidency, she made it clear they could agree on one thing. “1 in 55 kids is an epidemic / donald and i agree on that / and not much else,” she wrote.

In other words: her tweet was meant to help but the cynics blew the whole thing out of proportion. Welcome to the internet.
