See the ‘Game of Thrones’ credits go ’80s

If there’s two things millennials love, it’s “Game of Thrones” and seeing nostalgic reminders of their childhoods. Et voila: Some genius has combined the two. See an ’80s-ified version of the opening credits, complete with VHS aging effects on the image. And the music, while a take on the actual theme, has been translated to a synthesizer tuned to a magical ’80s setting that has probably not been used since.

We’re sad to see the moving map gone, but let’s be honest. That wasn’t ’80s style. Also? This version of the credits is a reminder that this show has a massive cast. No wonder they use the map in the real version. We’d like to see a ’90s version next with lots of neon visual effects added in.
