America's children will once more be subjected to the perils of vaccination, as their greatest protector has lost her platform: Jenny McCarthy has been let go from "The View."
Anti-vax crusader McCarthy and non-public health hazard Sherri Shepherd have both left the show. This is a year of big changes for "The View" - longtime host Barbara Walters retired earlier this year. “It's been seven wonderful years on 'The View' and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and [executive producer] Bill Geddie for giving me the opportunity,” Shepherd said in a statement to The Wrap. “I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my ‘View’ family and my fans for supporting me on this journey.”
The View also confirmed to USA Today that McCarthy was departing the show. " 'The View' will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively," they said.
Godspeed, Jenny McCarthy. I'll think of you every time I don't get smallpox.
