SNL creates skit for people losing their minds over Beyoncé’s ‘Formation’

Saturday Night Live recently aired a hilarious yet controversial skit in response to pop starBeyoncé’s music video, “Formation.”

A week after Beyoncé released the video,SNL created a trailer for a fake movie called, “The Day Beyoncé Turned Black.” The faux movie shows a world falling apart after “Formation” is released and people realize how much Beyoncé embraces her black heritage.

The trailer opens showing people living their normal lives until the day before the Super Bowl. The voice of a narrator is heard in the background.

“For white people, it was just another great week. They never saw it coming. They had no warning. Then, the day before the Super Bowl, it happened…”

The trailer cuts to news clips talking about Beyoncé and how she surprised-dropped her new video, “Formation.”

A wife calls her husband into the living room and says, “Honey, get in here! I think Beyoncé is black!”

The clip plays like a trailer for a zombie apocalypse film.

People are seen losing their minds after hearing the news of Beyoncé’s blackness. There are various scenes showing people reacting to the news. People begin running outside and panicking – as if the world is about to end.
