Music and royalty collide

Beyonce and Jay-Z have reportedly been asked to perform for Prince William and Kate Middleton after their wedding Friday, according to the Daily Star. “Both William and Kate are massive fans of Beyonce and Jay-Z. They really wanted to make their big day even more special and what better way than by getting pop royalty to perform at the party?”

Simon, Paula together again?

Simon Cowell is looking to team up with former “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul again, hoping to have her complete the panel of judges for the U.S. edition of “X Factor,” he tells Deadline Hollywood. “I missed her the second she left [‘Idol’],” Cowell says. “Always loved working with her, even though she can be a pain.” Cowell is hoping Abdul will join him, music producer L.A. Reid and British singer Cheryl Cole, a judge on the original “X Factor.”

Phillippe plays the game

Having famous parents can be difficult, especially with paparazzi around every corner. But Ryan Phillippe knows how to help his kids deal with it. “Sometimes we’ll make it a game,” he tells People magazine. “I’ll be like, let’s sneak out the back and so they can’t get a picture of us. We’ll make it a little team effort thing.” Phillippe admits that his son, Deacon, is less bothered by the attention than daughter Ava. “My son is a little more carefree that way,” he says. “But she’s 11 years old and she doesn’t want to be photographed and be seen by her friends in magazines all the time.”
